Chief Executive Officer
Thomas Volk has been the Chief Executive Officer at Lumesse since the beginning of 2013. He is a successful international business leader with significant experience working with a range of software, hardware and services businesses from smaller SaaS to large multi-national organisations across the US and Europe. Thomas is also chairman of the board of Personal & Informatik, a German public company focused on HR software.
Prior to joining Lumesse Thomas led the transformation of the large countries in the EMEA group of Dell to focus on a new Go-to-Market strategy to drive increased sales.
Thomas is a co-founder of Timmaron Group in the US which is providing management consulting and advice to companies ranging from Fortune 100 businesses to entrepreneurial start-ups.
In 2006 Thomas was appointed CEO of IDS Scheer, a publically quoted business process management software and services business where he expanded the business internationally and significantly grew its revenues.
Prior to this Thomas was executive vice president at Sybase, a US based information management software provider. Initially, he was responsible for the product group and R&D and later became head of all international business outside North America overseeing all sales, marketing, professional services and customer support. He was integral to the successful turnaround of the business from a product strategy and sales perspective.
Thomas started his career at HP in Germany and later the US where he assumed a variety of global sales, marketing and general management roles including leading the sales integration of HP and Compaq.
Thomas has completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Karlsruhe Technical University in Germany.
Chief Financial Officer
Michael is responsible for all of the financial and legal aspects of the Lumesse business and is based in the Capability Green office in the UK. Michael joined Lumesse from NorthgateArinso, a global leader in HR software & services, where he held the role of Global Finance Director. Prior to NorthgateArinso, he held leading Finance roles at BT and Hoffman-La Roche, after starting his career at PwC.
Director of Product Strategy
Neal heads up our Product Management & Marketing organisations and is responsible for ensuring we deliver on our commitment to innovation. As leader of this function Neal brings with him a highly successful track record in delivering true innovation in the HCM software industry.
Prior to joining Lumesse Neal led Product Development at Peoplefluent, where he and his team won multiple industry awards for their products. Neal has also held executive appointments at FirstAdvantage, EnticeLabs and led the Global Innovation Group at Monster.
Before joining the world of technology Neal was an HR practitioner, as Head of Global Staffing at PTC, and started his career at Ernst & Young.
Director of Service Delivery
Nick Goss is a highly experienced technology executive with over 20 year’s international high-tech experience and a strong track-record of providing and developing enterprise SaaS services. He has previously been named as a Premier 100 IT Leader by Computerworld Magazine and so has an established reputation for excellence.
Nick joined Lumesse from a role as Chief Technology Officer at Imaginatik, a publicly listed company providing innovation software and services to Fortune 500 clients worldwide. Prior to that he held CEO, CIO and Director level roles within established companies such as BMC Software and within entrepreneurial start-ups in Europe and the US.
Nick is responsible for managing all aspects of Lumesse’s solutions delivery.
Chief Marketing Officer
Stephan Schmitt joined Lumesse in April 2014 as Chief Marketing Officer to provide executive marketing leadership for Lumesse’s global operations.
Stephan is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in a series of marketing leadership roles within the tech industry – at both an enterprise and start-up level.
Following a highly successful marketing career at HP Stephan has more recently been involved in a series of innovative new technologies start-ups in the US to help develop their strategy and successful market penetration including SimplyLEDs where he served as a partner and company officer. He also serves as a board member at start-ups ReadyReceipts, Cymbrio and SimplyLEDs.
Prior to this, Stephan was vice president of worldwide marketing at HP’s StorageWorks division where he was overseeing and directing the entire marketing mix for a business unit with $4 billion in revenue.
Stephan joined HP in 1991 in Germany and has held senior European marketing and management positions. In his last European assignment, he managed the commercial supplies business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa before moving to the US to become vice president of marketing for the HP printing supplies business.
Stephan graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. He holds a University Diploma in mechanical engineering, computer science and business administration.
The HR function within Lumesse is led by Steve Hewitt. The mission of the Lumesse HR function is to make the talent management values and proposition that form the heart of our offering, live within our own organisation. That means that our customers benefit from better informed, more knowledgeable and engaged people from Lumesse performing at their highest level.
Steve joined Lumesse in November 2007 and became HR Director for the business at the beginning of 2010. As an HR practitioner with some 20 years hi-tech experience Steve previously led international HR teams in organisations such as Groupe Bull, BMC Software and Anite.
Head of Customer Support
Carole’s role is to make sure that every Lumesse customer, regardless of location, product in use, or language spoken, has outstanding support.
Carole joined Lumesse in March 2011, bringing more than twenty years' experience of operating and heading up International Customer Support Centres, including Silverpop Systems and Serena Software, where she led and established award-winning multilingual Customer Support teams. Carole holds an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire.
Charles M. Doucot
SVP & GM Special Projects
Charles M. Doucot, with his more than 20 years of experience in sales and operational leadership in the tech industry including Sybase and HP, has joined Lumesse to lead our Special Projects team globally.
Charles joins Lumesse from information management software provider Kalido where he was vice president of worldwide sales with responsibility for global sales, pre-sales engineering, partner development and channel sales. Prior to this he served as senior vice president & managing director, Americas Operations at IDS Scheer, a provider of business process management software.
At Sybase Charles served as vice president and general manager Sales and Channels, where he delivered record results across multiple product lines. During his 15 years at HP Charles held numerous sales, management and executive positions, including assignments in OEM sales, strategic alliances and services.
Charles graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and completed The General Manager Program™, an executive education course, at Harvard Business School.
Senior Vice President Engineering
Mark Heath joined Lumesse in June 2014 as the senior vice president engineering and is responsible for the development of best-of-breed products and SaaS offerings across the entire portfolio.
Mark is a successful senior executive with 25 years of experience in moving the needle for engineering and technology teams.
Most recently, he was the CTO & SVP Engineering at Brightpearl, a SaaS provider to multi-channel retail companies, in Bristol. He was instrumental in helping to double revenues by reducing outage minutes by over 80% and ensuring large numbers of product defects were fixed.
Before, he was the vice president Product XenServer for Citrix, one of the first virtualisation platform providers, where he developed and led its platform strategy. Previous engineering leadership roles include Truphone, Symbian and Chase Research.
Mark graduated with an MSc in Electronic System Design from Cranfield University and has an MBA from the University of Surrey. He also holds an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Oxford.
Vice President of Customer Success & Corporate Development
Klaus Enke joined Lumesse in July 2014 as vice president of customer success & corporate development. He is responsible to further develop our strategy and new growth opportunities as well as to deliver outstanding customer value.
Over the past 15 years and with more than 30 acquisitions under his belt Klaus has extensive experience in driving strategic and operational change in software and services companies on a global basis.
Most recently, Klaus was the head of M&A and business development at GFT Technologies, a financial services sector focused IT solutions provider, where he was responsible for sourcing and executing M&A transactions. Just before, he was vice president for acquisitions and post-merger integration at Infor, where he helped driving Infor’s growth from a start-up position to a top-3 player in the global enterprise software market with more than €1.8 billion in revenue.
Klaus graduated from Reinhold Würth University in Heilbronn, Germany and the University of Valencia, Spain with a double degree in industrial engineering and business administration.
Senior Vice President Business Operations
Aogán O’hAolain joined Lumesse in August 2014 as the senior vice president business operations. In addition to operationalising our strategy and plans, his role includes leading sales operations and driving operational excellence in both productivity and efficiency within the organisation.
With his more than 20 years of experience in the technology space under his belt, Aogán was most recently the executive director and CFO for Dell Financial Services. He was responsible for the development of the captive leasing business in EMEA. Over the years he has held a number of roles within Dell’s commercial and operations organisations, both regionally and globally.
Prior to joining Dell, Aogán was the finance controller of AST Ireland; he has also held finance positions with Motorola and Nortel.
Aogán has a business degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Limerick in Ireland. He is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Senior Vice President EMEA
Martin Moran joined Lumesse in August 2014 as the General Manager and senior vice president for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). His role involves establishing the EMEA strategy and direction for the field sales, professional services and learning organisations to drive business growth across the region.
Martin has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and cloud computing space in various accounting, consulting, sales and business management roles.
Most recently, Martin was the executive vice president of Global Selling Services at ServiceSource, a global leader in cloud-based recurring revenue management solutions. Previously, he spent ten years at salesforce.com as one of their founders in Europe, in a variety of sales, customer support, professional services and partner roles after starting his career at Capita and Oracle.
Martin has an accountancy degree from Brunel University in Uxbridge, London.
