Thomas Volk
Chief Executive Officer
Thomas is a successful international business leader with
experience working with a range of software, hardware and services
businesses across the USA and Europe. During his career, Thomas has
worked with large multi-national business as well as medium and
more recently smaller SaaS businesses.
Having completed a Masters degree in Computer Science, Thomas
started his working life with HP in Germany. During his 18 years at
HP Thomas undertook a variety of sales, marketing and general
management roles including leading the sales integration of HP and
Compaq. Thomas spent the last 4 years of his HP career living and
working in Colorado and California
Having completed the Compaq merger, Thomas moved to Sybase, a US
based Information Management software business with offices
in 60 countries and global revenues of $750m. After running the
Product Group and R&D he was responsible for all sales,
marketing, professional services and customer support outside North
America. At Sybase Thomas implemented a number of changes that were
fundamental to the successful turnaround of the business.
In 2006 Thomas returned to Germany to take up a role as CEO of
IDS Scheer, a publically quoted Business Process Management
software and services business, with sales of $600m and extensive
global operations. During his time at IDS Thomas expanded the
business internationally and grew the company to new record
levels.
Most recently Thomas co-founded Timarron Group, providing
support and advice to software and hardware companies ranging from
Fortune 100 businesses to entrepreneurial start-ups. During this
time Thomas gained valuable insight into the Human Capital
Management market working with Sum Total Systems and other players
in that market segment. Thomas is also chairman of the board of two
public German software companies.
Prior to joining Lumesse Thomas led the transformation of the
large countries in the EMEA group of Dell to focus on a new
Go-to-Market strategy to drive increased sales.

Christopher Fisher
Chief Financial Officer
Lumesse takes pride in ensuring that it always operates to the
highest professional standards and with best practice corporate
governance. This ensures that the company supports, protects and
enhances value for all stakeholders, whether customers, staff,
suppliers or investors. As CFO it is my job to ensure that the
integrity and professionalism of the business is maintained and
continuously improved. The finance and legal functions which I lead
are an integral partner to the global Lumesse business and will
always strive to ensure that the company's focus remains on
customer delivery in the smoothest and most able manner. Lumesse is
backed by one of the world's leading technology investors,
HgCapital, providing both financial resource and additional depth
and strength to its already experienced team. With such a strong
base we are in excellent position to continue our customer
orientated growth extending both geographically through our
commitment to be the only global company making talent management
work locally and through an excellent product range.
Christopher is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and has
substantial experience in leading multi-discipline finance, legal
and treasury functions across a spectrum of industry sectors with
an international focus. He spent a number of years as CFO to VTech
Electronics a globally recognised electronic toy manufacturer.
Latterly he was part of the Senior Management team that formulated
and then delivered a strategic plan building the Private Equity
backed Stewart Group through organic growth, acquisition and
internal investment into a leading company in the testing and
analysis of precious metals.

Martyn Arbon
Chief Technical Officer
I head up Lumesse technology activities, including technical
strategy, product development and global IT operations. I can't
think of a better job. We exist in a sector that delivers
cutting-edge enterprise technology in areas like cloud computing
and user interfaces, yet it is technology with a real human
purpose. We create solutions that helps people find work, enjoy
their jobs, take control of their careers and improve their
contribution. And we help businesses to offer great careers, to be
more attractive to employees, to build better management and to
improve their performance against the competition.
My team is very widely spread, from Europe to the US to Asia.
Partly that's because we operate global datacentres near to our
customers and partly because it makes sense to put developers and
other technical experts in locations where we find the right
expertise and the right operating costs. It also helps to give us a
more global perspective on how our customers work. It would be
simpler to put every server and every technical person in one
building, but it wouldn't be right for the business or for our
customers.
I joined Lumesse as Chief Technical Officer in November 2007,
bringing over twenty years' experience in senior technical
management roles, including Oracle Corporation where I was
responsible for providing global technical resource for part of
Oracle's Application development function. I particularly enjoy
leading multi-disciplined and organisationally dispersed technology
groups. I'm also on the Board of HRXML, helping to define global
standards for data exchange in HR systems.
Looking to the future - which is a key part of my role - I want
to see Lumesse have not just the most functionally complete talent
management solutions, but also a solution which is intuitive and
fun to use, which customers find easy to configure and integrate,
and which simply becomes part of their business - because that's
exactly the kind of technology I want myself.

Guy Langley
Chief Operating Officer
Lumesse is a global business whose operations stretch across 18
countries, serving 1,900 customers in 70 countries. My job is to
ensure that wherever we sell, implement and support our products,
we do so with professionalism, excellence and concern for our
customers, staff and partners. I'm determined that people will
associate Lumesse with the very highest standards, as well as being
the kind of business that they will happily recommend to other
people, whether as a supplier or an employer or a business
partner.
Lumesse is growing rapidly in Europe, the Americas and Asia
Pacific, as well as expanding the capabilities of its product
portfolio, so a large part of my job is ensuring that we maintain
our resources, skills levels and company culture as we grow. Our
promise to customers is to be 'the only global company making
talent management work locally.' But that's more than just a
promise - it's deep within our multi-cultural work environment and
product capabilities, and as COO my job is to make sure we deliver
on it by building and running the sales, professional services and
support teams that make it a reality worldwide.
I can only do this as part of a team and I have been impressed
by the quality of the people I have met at Lumesse and the depth of
commitment to its vision. The focus on building great teams around
the world to help our customers recruit, retain and develop their
top talent is amazing.
Guy joins Lumesse from Siemens PLM Software (formerly UGS)
where he was Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East and
Africa, overseeing substantial revenue growth. Prior to this, Guy
ran a number of country operations for UGS (UK), PeopleSoft (Spain)
and J.D. Edwards (Nordic & Germany). He joined the software
industry in 1996 following a successful sales career in
IBM.

Bucky Couch
Regional Director - Americas
I run Lumesse's fast-growing Americas team - a team that is
passionate about creating talent solutions that help transform the
way companies engage with their employees. We are proud that
Lumesse is helping many multi-national, enterprise-scale companies
in the Americas to streamline talent processes, engage their
employees globally, and use business intelligence analytics in
critical decision-making.
I've been in the talent business for many years, having been a
co-founder of hire.com and as a partner, consultant, and employee
of Lumesse for the last several years. I've learned that my primary
role as a leader is to hire the best people, support them, and get
out of their way. I believe the key quality that sets us apart from
the rest of the pack is that Lumesse employees genuinely like and
support each other, enjoy working together, and appreciate the
freedom and flexibility we have to pursue our collective passion of
helping our customers succeed.
In the Americas region Lumesse is not yet that well known, so
some companies may initially be reluctant to engage with us. But,
as a result of the benefits we've brought to our growing base of
enterprise customers, coupled with strong recommendations from
industry analysts, more and more Americas-based companies are
turning to Lumesse for the balance of global expertise and local
knowledge we bring to every engagement - that's our special
sauce!

Erik Schmit
Regional Director - Asia Pacific
Lumesse's Asia Pacific operation is just like the region I live
in - dynamic, fast-growing and great fun. Our mission is to use our
local knowledge and global solutions to help customers deal with
the huge changes occurring in our economies and the impact this has
on talent acquisition and management. We are totally focused on the
needs of the region, with local people, products that work in local
customs and languages from local datacentres, and yet supported by
the strength of a global business
Life is different here - large, fast-growing populations,
highly-varied demographics, rising incomes and many big brands
entering the region. Competition for talent is enormous and growing
- yet it's not unknown for a high-profile business to get 40,000
applications for 20 jobs. Helping customers deal with those kinds
of issues is what keeps us motivated.
I joined Lumesse as Regional Director for Western Europe in
2006. With almost fifteen years of senior management experience in
the technology industry, in 2009, I relocated to Hong Kong as the
regional director to lead the rapid growth of our operations in
Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and Japan.
I have a great team here in Asia. They are motivated by our 100%
commitment to the region, and very smart - we blend highly-educated
local people with experienced talent professionals, living and
working across the region, so we understand what's happening. We
work smart, we show discipline to get the job done, and we make a
commitment to finish and to make a difference. And we have fun.
In February 2010, Erik was awarded the "Leaders of
Excellence Award" from the Hong Kong Capital Magazine for his
contribution and insight to the Talent Management Industry in Hong
Kong and Mainland China. Erik holds a degree from the Erasmus
University in Rotterdam.

Carsten Busch
Regional Director EMEA
My team's job is to enable people and businesses throughout
Central & Eastern Europe to realise the full potential of their
talent. We help our customers find the most talented people and to
develop them as key contributors in their businesses. I believe
that 'the right people at the right time in the right place' drives
higher performance and more engaged employees throughout the
company.
Lumesse was created out of the best players in talent
acquisition and talent management - making us the new star of
talent management. I like the international atmosphere at Lumesse
and in our CEE headquarter in Düsseldorf, where real talent experts
help to grow the company and create better solutions for our
customers.
Personally I have more than 15 years' experience in talent
management software, understanding the needs of HR professionals,
and in HR thought leadership, culminating in my Doctoral
dissertation on 're-engineering and optimisation of HR processes
through web based technologies.' I am passionate about bringing
that experience to our customers, our solutions and to Lumesse.
Our clients belong to the top tier of organisations using talent
acquisition and management as a strategic tool to be competitive
and successful. All organisations should inspire talent - and I'm
proud that we offer that inspiration!

Nick Holmes
Regional Director UK
In the UK we work with some of the leading HR and business
thinkers, who understand the impact the right technology and
content can make to business, whether it is to help retain a key
performer, implement business-wide performance management, or
deliver a multi-million pound impact to business performance. Our
customers work with us because they believe that people are
important, and that their own people are vitally important and
worth investing in. I think that the journey our customers take
when working with us is the reason the people at Lumesse come to
work.
I spent years working in talent acquisition and HR with
companies such as T-Mobile and Atos Origin, and I know what it
feels like when an organisation invests in talent and gets it
right. There is a bounce in the step of everyone who comes through
the door of that business in the morning. There is a sense of
excitement about being part of something worthwhile.

Mark Wilson
Professional Services Director
As a service delivery organisation we know that it's not just
about implementing technology for our clients it's about helping
our clients achieve a desired business outcome through the
successful adoption of our technology. My role as Professional
Services Director is to ensure that we continue to deliver
excellent outcomes for our clients across the breadth of
territories and markets we serve. We have a truly global delivery
capability at Lumesse working with clients in very diverse markets
which makes us well placed not just to understand specific local
market needs but also to leverage the knowledge gained across the
global enterprise.
We have a mature delivery capability at Lumesse but we are
always looking to improve what we do and how we work with our
clients. It's important to me that we set ourselves high standards
and we support our people in their own development. It's through
this that we can continue to deliver high levels of client
satisfaction in an evolving market.
I'm very fortunate to have an exceptional team working for me
with real delivery capability spread across 18 Countries. Having
worked in the Software services sector for over 15 years I have
been lucky enough to work with many great organisations and I know
that the people we have at Lumesse are what drives our success.
Mark joins Lumesse from Siemens PLM Software (formerly UGS)
where he was Vice President for Professional Services across
Europe, Middle East and Africa and before that was the UK
Professional Services Director responsible for growing the Services
business and increasing client project success. Prior to that Mark
has worked in the IT Outsourcing sector with EDS and has a
background in software consulting in the UK Manufacturing
sector.

Jeremy Langley
Marketing & Business Development Director
As Marketing & Business Development Director I am
responsible for ensuring that Lumesse stays front-of-mind with
those organisations that would benefit from our solutions and that
they understand the value that we bring. It is key that my team is
the ear to the market and our customers, continually listening to
ensure that we understand fully what our customers need and working
with the wider organisation to ensure we deliver what is needed. In
particular we need to ensure we stay true to our promise as the
"Only global company making talent management solutions work
locally", and that applies to how we market too.
I have been within a number of leadership roles within Lumesse,
both previously in Marketing, Customer Success and Sales and this
roles allows me to take that understanding of our market, our
customers and our business, to deliver maximum impact.
Jeremy brings sixteen years' experience in the talent management
software industry to Lumesse. He has held a variety of roles within
Lumesse having started as Marketing Director, leading the WEMEA
region as the Regional Managing Director and more recently returned
to Marketing in January 2012.

Carole Pitts
Head of Customer Support
My job is to make sure that every Lumesse customer, regardless of
location, product in use, or language spoken, has outstanding
support. I'm passionate about providing the ultimate customer
support experience, and a real advocate of establishing rapport
with Lumesse customers, ensuring that any issues are addressed
competently with an appropriate sense of urgency and priority.
I joined Lumesse in March 2011, bringing more than twenty years'
experience of operating and heading up International Customer
Support Centres, including Silverpop Systems and Serena Software,
where I led and established award-winning multilingual Customer
Support teams. I'm committed to using that experience to
provide a consistent, world-class support service to meet the ever
changing business needs of Lumesse Customers
My team has a real challenge - to provide worldwide support,
twenty four hours a day, to customers in well over 50 countries.
The Lumesse customer support team has Support Centres in Europe,
the US and Asia Pacific, allowing us to operate on a 'follow the
sun' support basis, as well as provide excellent local
language support. I see my role as inspiring and motivating
globally dispersed Support teams to generate the highest levels of
customer satisfaction.
Carole holds an MSc in Computer Science from the University of
Hertfordshire.

Steve Hewitt
Head of HR
The mission of the Lumesse HR function is to make the talent
management values and proposition that form the heart of our
offering, live within our own organisation. That means that our
customers benefit from better informed, more knowledgeable people
from Lumesse working with them.
My job is to run the HR team globally, making sure that Lumesse
has the talent it needs in our many company offices worldwide. Our
belief is that we need to put expertise on the ground where our
customers work - people that talk the 'language and live the
culture.' As such we have exactly the same talent challenges as our
clients and we often act like a separate Lumesse customer, testing
out new ideas and tools for the business. That's very exciting and
helps build our understanding of how our solutions play out in
practice - if it doesn't work for us, it probably won't work for
you!
I joined Lumesse in November 2007 and became HR Director for the
business at the beginning of 2010. As an HR practitioner with some
20 years hi-tech experience, and a chartered member of the CIPD,
I've lead international HR teams in organisations such as Groupe
Bull, BMC Software and Anite. I'm proud of the culture we have at
Lumesse - hard-working, trust-based, results-oriented, and friendly
- a real people business.
I believe that effective talent management is no longer a 'nice
to have' - it is a must, particularly for organisations dealing
with high volume employment or 'knowledge-based' employment, or
both. Our solutions provide our customers with the data and insight
they need on their people, as the benefits of effective talent
management move from the subjective to the increasingly
well-researched and quantifiable, in a global economy where the
winners increasingly point to their talent management practices as
the differentiator that powered their success. I particularly enjoy
that we can help our clients learn from the experiences of leading
global organisations and aid key stakeholders to build the case for
investment in their own best practice talent management.

Valérie Bertrand
Head of Legal
As Head of Legal I help Lumesse to meet high standards of
compliance and business security in all areas of the law, from
customer contracts to major acquisitions. With operations and
people in many countries, my team and I need to have a truly global
view of how Lumesse works and the legal implications of our
agreements in different countries.
We help our sales teams form good and fair customer contracts,
we review supplier agreements for appropriate terms, and we support
our executives in corporate developments, among many other things.
It's a hugely varied job and very exciting as Lumesse grows.
I enjoy the fact that Lumesse operates to such high standards in
all areas - everyone you meet here is committed to doing the best
job they can and to working well with colleagues and customers.
Necessary legal work can sometimes be seen as a barrier to other
activity, but everyone here understands the importance of doing
things thoroughly and the benefits that brings in the long
term.
Valérie joined Lumesse in January 2006. After a
postgraduate degree in corporate and commercial law, Valérie worked
for six years for Sofipost, the holding company for the French
Postal Service. In this position, she acquired extensive experience
in managing legal work for Sofipost's French and foreign
subsdiaries - in particularly business reorganisation and
restructuring, corporate work, acquisitions, contracts, and
competition law. After moving to Berlin in 2003 she obtained a LL.M
law degree from the Humboldt University in Berlin in
2005.

Raymond van der Wal
Head of Product Strategy & Vision
My job as Head of Product Strategy & Vision is ultimately to
ensure that Lumesse delivers solutions to its customers that both
meet their most demanding present-day needs as well as offering
them new capabilities on the leading edge of talent management
thinking. That's very exciting as well as very challenging! The
talent management industry is very dynamic, both in its technology
and in the way it quickly develops and adopts new ideas.
I spend a lot of time talking to customers and industry experts
around the world, listening to their needs and understanding their
requirements for the future. I also have to keep myself aware of
new technical developments and what may be important in the next
few years. I work with different parts of the Lumesse business,
helping devise product development plans that will allow us to make
the best of these ideas and deliver advanced, intuitive
next-generation solutions to our customers.
I joined Lumesse with the acquisition of MrTedTalentLink in 2010
where I was Global Services Director. At MrTed I managed the
delivery of the world's first global, end-to-end, multilingual
staffing platform for a global enterprise. I also helped numerous
international clients across various industry sectors and
geographies to design effective change programmes and deliver upon
strategic HR IT projects. In my new role at Lumesse I try to bring
that practical knowledge of what customers need to our future
product vision.
Raymond brings over fifteen years of professional experience
in marketing, consultancy and services. Prior to MrTed he headed a
team of change management consultants within Royal Netherlands
Airforce. Raymond has a degree in Business Administration.

Thibaut Legendre
Head of Sales Operations
This job is about sales excellence. A successful sales
organisation is a delicate equilibrium of many moving parts (Sales
profiles, sales incentives, product, pricing, content, practices,
processes, client data, sales leadership and coaching practices,
etc…) and my job is to make it clockwork. Sales Operations sits at
the crossroads of many stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Finance,
Product, Support, Professional services) - something I have been
very well prepared for. I have led six Lumesse TalentLink product
releases, sold and implemented our software for clients all over
the world. I know what the end to end experience of a Lumesse
client looks like, and I use this knowledge every day.
Thibaut brings 15 years of management and leadership
experience in challenging environments. Prior to Lumesse he held
various positions as an Officer in the French Navy, in surface
warships and submarines, as well as in the naval recruitment
service. Thibaut has a Masters in Maritime Engineering from the
French Ecole navale.
